Questions people ask
What are the best apple orchards in Metro Detroit?
Our three picks: DeBuck's Family Farm in Belleville for the fall festival and the cider with a donut on top, Long Family Orchard in Commerce Township for hot cinnamon sugar donuts, and Spicer Orchards in Fenton for picking your own apples.
Do I need a ticket?
At Long's, the cider mill and market need no ticket; the Fun Farm, corn maze and hayride do. DeBuck's sells fall festival tickets online. Spicer's market is open to walk in, and u-pick apples are paid for by the bag.
Are the cider donuts halal?
None of the three farms makes a written halal statement or says what the donuts are fried in. Spicer says its donuts have no nut ingredients and sells vegan donuts. If it matters to you, ask at the donut counter.
