Is Bonchon halal?

No halal claim

Bonchon makes no halal claim for its US restaurants, and its menu includes pork potstickers, pork belly bao buns and kimchi pork belly fried rice.

The longer answer

We read Bonchon's US home page and menu page in October 2026 and found no mention of halal. The site has no FAQ page that we could reach.

The US menu lists several pork items: Potstickers in pork or vegetable, Bao Buns with pork belly, fried chicken or bulgogi, and House Fried Rice with a kimchi pork belly option. Pork is therefore handled in the same kitchens as the Korean fried chicken.

The menu page does not state the source of the chicken or how it is slaughtered. Bonchon has restaurants in other countries, but we found no company statement about halal for any of them on the US site.

What to check before you order

There is no halal claim to rely on. If you eat there, note that pork dumplings and pork belly are on the menu, and ask whether they share fryers and surfaces with other items.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
