Is California Pizza Kitchen halal?
California Pizza Kitchen makes no halal claim. Its menu includes bacon, ham, pepperoni and Italian sausage, and its Bolognese sauce is made with pork and red wine.
The longer answer
California Pizza Kitchen's FAQ (checked October 2026) covers company questions such as gift cards, franchising and grocery products. It does not mention halal, and we found no halal statement or certifier on the FAQ or the menu.
The menu shows pork in several places. The Sicilian pizza lists Italian sausage, Capicola ham and pepperoni, applewood smoked bacon is offered as an add-on to pizzas and salads, and a salad is topped with smoked ham and salami. The Bolognese Spaghetti is described as "Our rich Bolognese sauce made with beef, pork, red wine, and fresh scallions."
CPK is a full-service restaurant that also serves alcohol, and the menu suggests beer pairings next to some pizzas. Grilled chicken appears on many pizzas and salads, but CPK does not describe it as halal.
What to check before you order
Ask your server which sauces are cooked with wine before ordering pasta, and check that a vegetarian pizza or salad comes without the bacon add-on. No meat on the menu is described as halal.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
