Is Capriotti's halal?

No halal claim

Capriotti's makes no halal claim that we could find. Its menu includes Genoa salami, capicola, prosciuttini and bacon, and no meat is described as halal.

The longer answer

We found no halal statement or certifier on Capriotti's ordering site or its "Simply the Best" brand page (checked October 2026). The FAQ page on its site did not display any questions when we loaded it, so we could not confirm what it says.

The menu shows pork in the Italian range and the clubs. The Classic Italian is described as "Genoa salami, capicola, prosciuttini, provolone cheese, onions, lettuce, and tomato", and the Classic Club has prosciuttini peppered ham and hickory-smoked, honey-cured bacon. A Chicken Bacon Ranch sub is also listed.

Capriotti's says it slow-roasts Butterball turkeys in house and uses American Wagyu beef from Snake River Farms for its cheesesteaks. It does not describe the turkey, beef or chicken as halal. The menu also lists plant-based options, including an Impossible Cheesesteak and a Plant-Based Turkey sub.

What to check before you order

The plant-based subs avoid the meat question, but ask how they are grilled, since cheesesteaks and bacon are cooked in the same shop. No turkey, beef or chicken on the menu is described as halal.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
