Is Caribou Coffee halal?

No halal claim

We found no halal claim from Caribou Coffee. Its packaged Caribou Blend coffee is kosher certified, and its coffeehouse menu includes a bacon breakfast sandwich.

The longer answer

We found no halal statement or halal certification for Caribou Coffee. Its menu pages redirect to an ordering app that we could not read, so this entry relies on other documents.

For packaged coffee, an Orthodox Union letter of kosher certification dated October 5, 2026 covers "Caribou Blend - Coffee" made for Caribou Coffee Operating Company, lists its status as pareve (no meat or dairy), and is valid through October 31, 2027. Kosher certification is not halal certification, but it does show the plain coffee is certified free of meat and dairy ingredients.

In the coffeehouses, pork is on the food menu. Nation's Restaurant News reported in May 2026 that Caribou's Everyday Value Menu includes a Bacon Breakfast Sandwich "layered with bacon, a scrambled egg patty, and melted cheddar on a toasted English muffin." We could not find ingredient lists for Caribou's syrups, sauces or baked goods.

What to check before you order

Plain brewed coffee and espresso are the simplest order. Ask staff about flavored syrups and toppings, and note that sandwiches with bacon are warmed in the same store.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
