Is Charleys Cheesesteaks halal?
Charleys Cheesesteaks makes no halal claim on its US menu pages, and bacon and pepperoni appear on several sandwiches and loaded fries.
The longer answer
We read Charleys' cheesesteaks menu page and sides menu page in October 2026 and found no mention of halal. The site has no FAQ page that we could reach.
The menu describes its beef as "USDA Choice Steak" and its chicken as all-white meat chicken, with no statement about slaughter. Pork appears on several items: the Steak Bomb and Pepperoni Cheesesteak include pepperoni, and the Turkey Bacon Club, Prime BBQ Jalapeno and Bacon Chipotle Chicken include bacon. On the sides menu, loaded fries are topped with bacon bits.
Charleys notes that menu items vary by location. We found no company statement about halal locations in the United States.
What to check before you order
There is no halal claim for the steak or chicken, and bacon and pepperoni are on the menu. Ask whether they share the grill with your order. If a local franchise says it is halal, ask to see its certificate.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
