Is Chipotle halal?

No halal claim

Chipotle makes no halal claim, and its menu includes pork carnitas prepared alongside the other foods.

The longer answer

Chipotle's US allergens and special-diets page (checked October 2026) does not mention halal and names no halal certifier.

The same page tells guests who avoid pork that "Our carnitas are made with pork" and warns that individual foods may come into contact with one another during preparation.

We found no Chipotle statement that its chicken, steak or barbacoa is halal-slaughtered.

What to check before you order

The meats are not offered as halal. If you order a vegetarian bowl (beans, rice, fajita vegetables, sofritas), be aware of shared utensils and the serving line, and ask staff to change gloves and use fresh spoons.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
