Is Dave's Hot Chicken halal?
Dave's Hot Chicken states on its official restaurant locator that its restaurants serve halal chicken; no certifier is named there.
The longer answer
The brand's restaurant locator (checked October 2026) says "our restaurants serve halal chicken", and the Texas state page and the Dearborn, Michigan page at 22208 Michigan Avenue repeat the same wording. The pages do not name a halal certifier or describe the slaughter method. Zabihah's chain page quotes coverage that the founders chose halal chicken despite the extra cost of roughly 10 cents per pound. The brand's main FAQ address returned an error page when we checked, so we found no fuller written policy.
What to check before you order
Ask the location which body certifies its chicken supplier and whether the slaughter is by hand or machine, since the brand's pages do not say.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
