Is Dickey's Barbecue Pit halal?
Dickey's Barbecue Pit makes no halal claim and its standard menu is heavy on pork. Community listings report halal meat by request at a few franchises, and one of those is disputed.
The longer answer
Dickey's own FAQ page (checked October 2026) does not mention halal, and we found no chain-wide halal statement or certifier on the company's US site. The standard menu features pulled pork sandwiches and loaded baked potatoes with bacon and pulled pork, sold alongside the brisket and chicken.
Dickey's is a franchise, and a small number of individual locations have been reported as offering halal meat. Zabihah.com, a community halal directory, lists the Dickey's at 9004 Garland Road in Dallas as partially halal, describing hand slaughtered halal brisket and chicken, with the note that "halal meat is only offered by request." Reviewers there say it has to be ordered ahead.
Zabihah also lists a Dickey's on North Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City as fully halal, but recent reviews on that listing dispute it: one from July 2026 says staff said the brisket was not halal, and others note pork on the menu. These are community reports, not company statements, and they can go out of date.
What to check before you order
Assume a Dickey's is not halal unless that specific location tells you otherwise. Call ahead, ask which meats are halal, who certifies them, whether they must be pre-ordered, and whether they are smoked and sliced apart from the pork.
