Is Famous Dave's halal?

No halal claim

Famous Dave's makes no halal claim. Its menu centers on pork: St. Louis-style spareribs, baby back ribs, Georgia chopped pork, bacon and sausage.

The longer answer

We found no halal statement or certifier on the Famous Dave's website (checked October 2026). The site has no FAQ page, and its nutrition and allergy information page does not mention halal or kosher food.

The company's published nutrition guide shows how much of the menu is pork: St. Louis-Style Spareribs, Baby Back Ribs, Georgia Chopped Pork, Smoked Bacon, Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, Hot Link Sausage and a Country Fried Pork Chop at some locations. Texas Beef Brisket and Country-Roasted Chicken are also served, but nothing says how they are sourced or slaughtered, and they are sold on the same menu and combo plates as the pork.

The nutrition page itself notes that the information "is not guaranteed" and should be used as a guide only.

What to check before you order

The brisket and chicken are not sold as halal and come from a pork-heavy barbecue menu. Check sides too: ask whether beans, greens or dressings contain pork or bacon.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
