Is Fatburger halal?

No halal claim

Fatburger makes no halal claim for its US restaurants. Its US site and allergen guide do not mention halal, and bacon and sausage are on the menu.

The longer answer

Fatburger's US website (checked October 2026) does not mention halal on its home page, and it has no FAQ page. Its 2026 allergen guide does not mention halal either. The guide lists a Bacon & Egg Sandwich, a Sausage & Egg Sandwich and a bacon add-on, and the home page shows a Western Bacon BBQ burger.

The same allergen guide says that "normal kitchen operations involve shared preparation and cooking areas, including common fryer oil, which may result in food items coming into contact with other food items."

Fatburger has been reported as halal in some places outside the US. A March 2023 article from Franchise Canada, the Canadian Franchise Association's magazine, said of the first Toronto restaurant that the beef and chicken are "offered as halal-certified exclusively in Ontario." That report is about Ontario, Canada and does not apply to US restaurants.

We looked for a company statement or a location-level halal claim for any US Fatburger and found none.

What to check before you order

Do not assume a US Fatburger is halal because one abroad is. If a specific location tells you it serves halal beef, ask to see the certificate and ask how bacon and sausage are kept apart on the grill.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
