Is Five Guys halal?

No

No. Five Guys says the beef it serves in the United States and Canada is not halal.

The longer answer

Five Guys' FAQ states: "In the United States and Canada, the beef we serve is not kosher, halal or organic." It adds that there is some variation by country and points customers to its country websites.

One example of that variation is France, where Five Guys lists specific restaurants that serve halal-certified beef, with pork bacon still on the menu and cooked on a separate grill. This does not apply to US restaurants.

What to check before you order

In the US and Canada the beef is not halal, and bacon is on the menu. Abroad, check the Five Guys website for that country to see whether your specific restaurant is on its halal list.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
