Is Gong cha halal?

No halal claim

Gong cha makes no halal claim for its US stores. It publishes nutrition and allergen statements but no ingredient lists, so toppings like pudding and jelly cannot be checked.

The longer answer

Gong cha's US website (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. Its products page describes teas with toppings such as tapioca pearls, white pearls, milk foam, pudding and coconut jelly, and says drinks "may contain or come into contact with" milk, peanuts, tree nuts, soy and gluten.

The nutrition document linked from that page lists calories and an allergen statement for each drink, for example "CONTAINS MILK" for the Milk Foam teas. It does not list ingredients, so it does not show what sets the pudding and jellies or what the flavor syrups contain.

We found no FAQ on the US site and no halal certification for US stores. Gong cha operates in many countries, and any halal status claimed by stores abroad does not carry over to the US.

What to check before you order

Plain teas and milk teas with tapioca pearls are the simplest orders. Ask the store what the pudding and jelly are set with, since the company does not publish those ingredients.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
