Is Jamba halal?
Jamba makes no halal claim. Its published ingredient lists show no gelatin in the smoothies we checked, but sandwiches sold in select markets contain bacon.
The longer answer
Jamba publishes a full ingredient list for each menu item in its nutrition spreadsheet (the October 2026 edition, checked October 2026). We searched it and found no gelatin listed anywhere. The frozen yogurt and sherbet used in classic smoothies are set with locust bean, guar and tara gums and carrageenan, and they list mono and diglycerides and natural flavors without stating a source.
The same document has a "Nutrition In Select Markets" section with hot sandwiches. Two of them, the Rotisserie Chicken Avo Ranch and the J.B.S.T, list bacon as an ingredient, and others use chicken breast. Jamba says nothing about how that meat is slaughtered.
Jamba's FAQ does not mention halal or kosher. It does say vegan items are marked with a leaf on the menu and that "We have a variety of smoothie, juice and bowl options that are all vegan."
What to check before you order
Smoothies, juices and bowls are the lower-risk part of the menu, and the leaf symbol marks vegan items. Where a store sells sandwiches, the chicken is not stated to be halal and bacon is used in the same kitchen.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
