Is Leo's Coney Island halal?

Depends on the location

Leo's Coney Island publishes a separate halal menu for its Dearborn and Dearborn Heights locations; other locations make no halal claim.

The longer answer

Leo's location pages for 5575 Greenfield Road in Dearborn and 26540 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights (checked October 2026) each link to a halal menu. The Dearborn halal menu lists halal chicken, halal gyro meat, halal chili, halal coneys and halal sausage links, and says any breakfast can be substituted for halal. The same menu still lists bacon and regular sausage, so the kitchen serves both. The menu does not name a certifier, and the chain's main locations page does not advertise halal elsewhere.

What to check before you order

Order from the halal menu by name, say you want the halal version, and ask the location which supplier and certifier its halal meat comes from.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
