Is Marble Slab Creamery halal?

No halal claim

Marble Slab Creamery makes no halal claim. Its ingredient guide lists alcohol in many flavorings, including vanilla, and gelatin in its gummy candy mix-in.

The longer answer

Marble Slab Creamery publishes an allergen, ingredient and nutrition guide (dated June 2026, checked October 2026). It does not mention halal or kosher.

The base is simple: Sweet Cream ice cream is listed as milk, cream, sugar, whey, nonfat milk, corn syrup, mono and diglycerides, locust bean gum, guar gum and carrageenan, with no gelatin. The source of the mono and diglycerides is not stated. Many flavors add a flavoring that lists alcohol. Vanilla lists "Vanilla Extract; Vanilla Bean Extractives, Water, Corn Alcohol, Sugar", Black Cherry lists "Ethyl Alcohol", and Amaretto, Bubblegum and Rum ice creams also list alcohol within the flavoring.

Gelatin appears once in the guide, in the gummy candy mix-in: "Corn Syrup, Sucrose, Gelatin, Citric Acid" and so on, with no animal source given. Mix-ins are folded in on a shared slab. We found no halal certification for the chain.

What to check before you order

Check your flavor in the company's ingredient guide before ordering: Sweet Cream lists no flavoring at all, while Vanilla lists corn alcohol in its extract. Skip the gummy candy, and ask for a cleaned slab and tools if mix-ins concern you.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
