Is McAlister's Deli halal?
McAlister's Deli makes no halal claim that we could find. Its menu includes ham, bacon and shredded pork items, and no meat is described as halal.
The longer answer
We found no halal statement or certifier on McAlister's Deli's menu or About Us pages (checked October 2026). The FAQ page on its website returned an error when we tried to read it, so we could not confirm what it says.
The sandwich menu includes a Ham and Cheese Melt, a BLT, club sandwiches and a Bold Honey BBQ Pork Melt. A limited-time item, the Spicy Green Chili Aioli Pork Nachos, is described as shredded pork with cheese, tomato, red onion, jalapenos, green onion and green chili aioli on tortilla chips.
Turkey, chicken and Black Angus beef sandwiches are also on the menu, along with vegetarian choices such as The Veggie. McAlister's does not describe any of its meats as halal.
What to check before you order
Read the description of each sandwich, spud and salad for bacon, ham or pulled pork. The vegetarian sandwiches avoid the meat question. Ask the restaurant about shared prep surfaces if that matters to you.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
