Is Moe's Southwest Grill halal?
Moe's Southwest Grill makes no halal claim. Its FAQ does not mention halal or meat sourcing, though it says the beans, rice, tortillas and tofu are vegan.
The longer answer
Moe's FAQ (checked October 2026) has about 90 questions and none covers halal, kosher or where the meat comes from.
The FAQ is more useful on meat-free items. In its answer for vegetarians and vegans it says: "We use only soybean oil and vegetable stock." and "Our organic tofu, beans, tortillas, and rice are all vegan." It also says "there is no gelatin in the guacamole." That points to no lard or meat stock in the beans and rice.
The FAQ notes that chips, taco shells and the fried salad bowl are cooked in-house in a shared fryer. The pages we could read did not list the proteins individually, so check the menu board at your restaurant for which meats are served.
We found no halal statement or certifier for Moe's.
What to check before you order
The chicken, steak and other meats carry no halal claim. For a meat-free order, ask the server to change gloves and use clean utensils, since everything is assembled on one line.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
