Is Penn Station East Coast Subs halal?
Penn Station East Coast Subs makes no halal claim. Its Help Center does not mention halal, and its subs use smoked ham, bacon, salami and pepperoni.
The longer answer
Penn Station's Help Center and product pages (checked October 2026) do not mention halal, and we found no halal statement or certifier anywhere on the pages we read.
The menu describes the Club as "Smoked ham, oven-roasted turkey breast, thick-cut smoked bacon, Swiss, lettuce, Roma tomatoes, honey mustard, mayo" and the Classic Italian as smoked ham, hard salami and pepperoni with provolone. Bacon also appears in the Turkey Bacon Ranch, BLT and Grilled Cheese and Bacon.
Penn Station says its cheesesteaks use USDA Choice steak and that sandwiches are prepared fresh in full view of the customer. It does not say the steak or chicken is halal. The menu also notes that the fresh-cut fries are fried in peanut oil.
What to check before you order
The Veggie and Artichoke subs avoid the meat question. Because subs are grilled in front of you, you can watch the grill and ask for a cleaned section away from ham and bacon.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
