Is Pita Pit halal?
Pita Pit USA makes no halal claim, and its US menu includes bacon and pulled pork. Pita Pit Canada labels a few items halal, which does not apply to US stores.
The longer answer
Pita Pit USA's website and its nutrition page (checked October 2026) do not mention halal. The US protein list includes chicken, steak, gyro, souvlaki and falafel alongside bacon and pulled pork, so pork is handled in the same kitchens.
Pita Pit Canada is run separately. Its allergen chart, revised November 2025, labels a handful of items with the word halal: Falafel (Halal), Buffalo Chicken (Halal), Chicken Shawarma (Halal), Halloumi (Halal) and Halloumi Sticks (Halal). Other Canadian proteins on the same chart, including plain chicken, chicken souvlaki, steak and gyro, carry no halal label, and the chart also lists bacon, deli ham and pepperoni. This is Canadian information and does not apply to US restaurants.
We found no halal certifier named by Pita Pit in either country.
What to check before you order
In the US, assume the meat is not halal unless a store shows you otherwise, and remember bacon and pulled pork are on the line. In Canada, only the items marked halal on the chart are claimed as halal.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
