Is Pita Way halal?
Pita Way says every location serves halal food and that all of its proteins are halal-certified, but its website does not name the certifying body.
The longer answer
Pita Way is a Michigan-based Mediterranean chain. Its location pages (checked October 2026) carry a short FAQ. The Rochester Hills page says: "Yes, every Pita Way location, including Rochester Hills, serves halal-certified Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food." It goes on: "Our grilled chicken, gyro, dark meat chicken, falafel, and crispy chicken are all halal." Under the question "Are the proteins really halal?" the answer is that every Pita Way protein is halal-certified.
The chain's Michigan locations page says "every Michigan Pita Way serves the same fresh Mediterranean and halal menu".
None of the pages we read names a halal certifier or shows a certificate, so we list this as a company statement and not as a verified certification.
What to check before you order
The company says all proteins are halal at every location. If you want to know who certifies the meat, ask the store to show its certificate or name its supplier, since the website does not say.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
