Is Pollo Tropical halal?

No halal claim

Pollo Tropical makes no halal claim, and its menu includes Mojo Roast Pork, Caribbean ribs and a Guava BBQ Pork Sandwich alongside the grilled chicken.

The longer answer

Pollo Tropical's FAQ (checked October 2026) covers nutrition, MSG, hours, catering and franchising. It does not mention halal.

The nutritional information document linked from that FAQ lists pork items next to the chicken: Mojo Roast Pork with sauteed onions, Caribbean Ribs with Guava BBQ Sauce, a Guava BBQ Pork Sandwich and Chicken BLT sandwiches. It also lists a Pineapple Rum Sauce among the condiments. The document does not give ingredient lists or say how the chicken is slaughtered.

The FAQ says Pollo Tropical owns and operates its restaurants in the continental United States, apart from some licensed sites such as campuses and airports, so there is no franchise by franchise variation to look for.

What to check before you order

There is no halal claim, and pork is cooked in the same restaurants. If you eat the sides, check the allergen and vegetarian columns of the nutrition sheet and ask about shared grills and fryers.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
