Is Popeyes halal?

No halal claim

Popeyes makes no halal claim on its US website; reports of individual US franchise locations serving halal chicken are community claims we could not confirm with the company.

The longer answer

Popeyes' US website and support pages (checked October 2026) contain no halal statement, and the address popeyes.com/en/halal-certification simply redirects to the home page.

Social-media halal guides circulate lists of individual US Popeyes franchise locations said to serve halal chicken (one September 2026 post lists 26). We could not find a Popeyes corporate statement or a named certifier confirming any of them, so treat these as unverified, location-by-location claims.

Popeyes in Canada and in Muslim-majority countries is widely described as halal, but we could not find an official Popeyes Canada statement online to verify the certifier, and it has no bearing on US restaurants.

What to check before you order

Ask the specific restaurant whether its chicken is halal, who the supplier and certifier are, and whether a certificate is posted. Also ask what the frying oil is made of. Do not assume a claim at one Popeyes applies to another.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
