Is Schlotzsky's halal?
Schlotzsky's makes no halal claim. Its FAQ does not mention halal, and its sandwiches, pizzas and calzones use ham, salami, bacon and pepperoni.
The longer answer
Schlotzsky's FAQ page (checked October 2026) covers topics such as catering and delivery. It does not mention halal, and we found no halal statement or certifier on the FAQ or the menu.
The menu relies heavily on pork deli meats. The Zesty Italian Sub layers ham and salami, the Honey Mustard Club Sub stacks turkey, ham and bacon, and the Italian Calzone lists Genoa salami, cotto salami, ham and pepperoni. Bacon is also added to turkey and chicken items such as the Turkey Avocado BLT Sub and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Calzone.
On special diets, the catering section of the FAQ says only that the menu "offers a wide array of vegetarian and gluten-sensitive options at select locations". Schlotzsky's does not describe any of its meats as halal.
What to check before you order
Many sandwiches combine several meats, so read the full description and do not rely on the name. Ask which vegetarian options your location carries, and about shared slicers and ovens if that matters to you.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
