Is Sweetgreen halal?

The longer answer

Sweetgreen's animal welfare policy (effective March 2026, checked October 2026) describes its sourcing standards and does not mention halal. Halal Monitoring Services' guide (updated September 2026) says HMS has not inspected or certified Sweetgreen and lists its status as not verified. We found no corporate statement, named certifier or documented halal location. The chicken and steak should be treated as conventionally sourced.

What to check before you order

There is no halal claim to check. Plant-based bowls are an option; ask whether they are prepared with separate utensils from the meat.
