Is The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill halal?

Depends on the location

It depends on the franchise. We found no chain-wide halal claim, but community listings show a few Great Greek locations serving halal on staff assurance.

The longer answer

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is a franchise chain. Its home page, menu and Our Story page (checked October 2026) do not mention halal, and we found no corporate halal statement.

The community directory Zabihah lists at least two franchises. Its entries for Falls Church, Virginia (6410 Arlington Blvd) and Center Valley, Pennsylvania (2880 Center Valley Parkway) each say: "Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status" and "Only selected franchises of The Great Greek have halal options, including this one." Both listings note that no further evidence, such as a certificate, is on file.

So the evidence is a community listing based on what staff said, at particular franchises. It is not a company statement and no certifier is named.

What to check before you order

Do not assume a Great Greek is halal. Call the specific restaurant, ask which meats are halal and whether it can show a certificate or name its supplier.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
