Is The Port of Peri Peri halal?
Yes, according to the company. The Port of Peri Peri says every menu item is halal and that it is certified by the Halal Food Standards Alliance of America (HFSAA).
The longer answer
The Port of Peri Peri has a halal page on its website (checked October 2026) that says: "Every single item, from our flame-grilled chicken to our drinks and desserts, is fully halal." It states: "We are proudly certified by the Halal Food Standards Alliance of America (HFSAA.org)", describes "100% dedicated halal kitchens across our locations in 11 states", and says the certification is renewed annually.
The page says the chicken is sourced from certified halal suppliers. The certificate embedded on that page did not load when we checked, and we could not read HFSAA's online directory of certified businesses, so we have not seen the certificate itself.
A Zabihah community listing for the Aurora, Illinois restaurant repeats the company statement, names HFSAA as the halal authority, and marks the restaurant fully halal, hand-slaughtered and alcohol free.
What to check before you order
Look for a current HFSAA certificate displayed at the restaurant you visit. You can also look the restaurant up on HFSAA's list of certified entities.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
