Is Wayback Burgers halal?
It depends on the location. Some Wayback Burgers franchises say they serve halal meat, but the chain as a whole does not, and pork bacon is reported at some halal-serving stores.
The longer answer
Wayback Burgers does not say its restaurants are halal across the chain. What the company does say appears on a franchise recruitment page aimed at Muslim investors, which lists "Halal Food Options Available" as a selling point. That page does not say which restaurants or which menu items.
At location level the evidence comes from customers and community listings, not from company text. On Wayback's own page for its Newton, New Jersey restaurant, a customer review says the location "serves 100% halal meat". On the Irving, Texas page a customer review says "they have halal food options available". The company's own wording on those pages does not mention halal.
Zabihah, a community halal directory, lists several Wayback locations and notes that "Selected franchises of Wayback offers halal options (halal burgers and halal beef bacon)". Its Irving listing rests on a verbal assurance from staff, and reviewers on the same listing report that pork bacon and alcohol were also sold there.
We found no named halal certifier for any Wayback location.
What to check before you order
Ask your specific restaurant which items are halal (beef, chicken, hot dogs, bacon), who the meat supplier or certifier is, and whether pork bacon is cooked on the same grill. Do not assume another Wayback is the same.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
