Is Almond Joy halal?

No halal claim

Almond Joy makes no halal claim. Hershey's ingredient list for the bar shows no gelatin or alcohol and carries an OU-D kosher mark, but no halal certification.

The longer answer

Almond Joy is made by The Hershey Company. Hershey's product page lists the bar's ingredients (checked October 2026) as corn syrup, sugar, coconut, almonds, vegetable oil (palm, shea, sunflower, palm kernel and/or safflower oil), lactose, and 2% or less of reduced protein whey, chocolate, skim milk, cocoa, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa processed with alkali, corn syrup solids, whey, salt, soy lecithin, vanillin and sodium metabisulfite.

No gelatin, alcohol or animal fat other than dairy is listed. The page shows an OU-D kosher dairy mark. The source of the whey is not described.

Hershey's FAQ links to lists of kosher and vegan products but has no entry about halal, and we found no halal certification claim for Almond Joy.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredient list on the pack, and check seasonal shapes and flavored versions separately. Kosher dairy certification is not the same as halal certification.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
