Is Altoids halal?

No halal claim

Altoids lists gelatin in its US peppermint mints and does not state the gelatin source or make a halal claim.

The longer answer

The US product page for Altoids Peppermint Mints (checked October 2026) lists the ingredients as sugar, gum arabic, natural flavors including oil of peppermint, and gelatin. The page does not say which animal the gelatin comes from. The Altoids contact and help page does not mention halal or gelatin. We found no halal certification for US Altoids.

What to check before you order

Gelatin is on the ingredient list of the peppermint tins. Contact Mars Wrigley if you need the source confirmed.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
