Is Ben & Jerry's halal?
Ben & Jerry's makes no halal claim in the US; it is kosher certified by KOF-K and says some flavorings contain trace liqueur.
The longer answer
Ben & Jerry's US FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. It says almost all of its products are certified kosher by KOF-K Kosher Supervision, with occasional exceptions, and that scoop shops are not certified kosher. In an answer about pregnancy it refers to "the trace amount of liqueur or caffeine used in our flavorings", so some flavors contain alcohol-based ingredients. Kosher certification is a separate standard and is not a halal certification. We found no US halal certifier for Ben & Jerry's.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient list of the specific flavor for liqueur, rum, bourbon or other alcohol ingredients. There is no halal mark on US pints.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
