Drinks
Is Barbican halal?
Barbican says its malt drink has received halal certification and has 0% alcohol during manufacturing, though its FAQ does not name the certifying body.
The longer answer
Barbican's FAQ (checked October 2026) answers "Is Barbican Halal?" with: "Barbican has received 100% Halal certification from the Halal regulatory authority(ies)." The page does not name the authority or show a certificate, so we could not confirm the certifier.
On alcohol, the FAQ says: "Barbican is a Non-Alcoholic Malt Beverage made from the finest ingredients and has 0% Alcohol during the manufacturing process." For ingredients and calories it points buyers to the label.
Barbican is a Gulf brand. Its site says it was introduced in the Middle East in 1982, is a trademark of Rani Refreshments FZCO and is distributed by the Aujan Coca-Cola Beverage Company. The site says nothing specific about products sold in the US.
What to check before you order
Look on the bottle for a halal mark and the country of production, since the website does not name the certifier. Flavors include malt, apple, pomegranate, peach, strawberry and others.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
