Is Coca-Cola halal?

No halal claim

Coca-Cola makes no halal claim on its US site; the company calls it a non-alcoholic product and says it is halal-certified in Thailand, not in Great Britain.

The longer answer

Coca-Cola's US FAQ (checked October 2026) lists about 120 questions and none mentions halal; the only religious-diet entry is one about the kosher status of some Minute Maid juices. Overseas, the company's Thailand FAQ answers that Coke drinks in Thailand are halal-certified, without naming the certifier on that page. An archived Coca-Cola Great Britain FAQ (captures from 2021 to 2023) answered "No" to whether Coca-Cola is certified halal in Great Britain, and added that authorities in more than 200 countries, including many where Islam is the majority religion, recognise Coca-Cola as a non-alcoholic product. The Cambodia FAQ gives the same non-alcoholic statement. The flavorings are listed only as "natural flavors", and the company's Pakistan FAQ says they are a trade secret. We found no US halal certifier for Coca-Cola.

What to check before you order

US cans and bottles carry no halal mark. The ingredient line to note is "natural flavors", which the company does not break down; imported bottles from countries such as Thailand may carry a local halal logo.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
