Is Lipton halal?
Lipton's US site makes no halal claim. Its FAQ says most of its teas are certified OU Kosher, including black, green, flavored and powdered teas.
The longer answer
Lipton's US FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification for Lipton tea sold in the US.
On kosher, the FAQ says: "Most of our teas are indeed Kosher. The following teas are certified OU Kosher: Lipton Black Tea (loose and tea bags), Decaf Black Tea, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, all Lipton Green Teas (including Decaf and flavored), all Lipton Powdered Tea Mixes and all Lipton Flavored Black and Herbal Teas." The page for Lemon Flavored Iced Tea Mix also shows a kosher label.
Plain tea bags are tea leaves. Flavored teas and powdered mixes add flavorings and other ingredients, which the pages we read do not break down. This entry covers Lipton tea bags and mixes, not bottled Lipton iced tea, which we did not check.
What to check before you order
Plain black or green tea is just tea leaves. For flavored teas and iced tea mixes, read the ingredient list on the box.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
