Is Martinelli's halal?

No halal claim

Martinelli's makes no halal claim. Its Sparkling Cider is listed as pasteurized carbonated apple juice with vitamin C, and the company says it contains no alcohol.

The longer answer

Martinelli's product page for Sparkling Cider (checked October 2026) calls it a "non-alcoholic Sparkling Cider" and lists the ingredients as: "Pasteurized 100% carbonated apple juice from U.S. grown fresh apples and vitamin C. Contains no water, alcohol or sweeteners." The same page notes that the company began selling "unfermented apple juice" in 1917.

The company's FAQ says its apple juice and cider are the same product under different labels, both "100% juice from U.S. grown fresh apples". The FAQ has no question about halal, and we found no halal statement or certification on the pages we read.

The name can cause confusion because "cider" often means an alcoholic drink outside the US, and the bottle is shaped like a champagne bottle. On the pages we read, Martinelli's describes its sparkling range as non-alcoholic juice.

What to check before you order

Check that the bottle says sparkling cider or sparkling juice and read the ingredient line, which should be juice and vitamin C. There is no halal logo to look for.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
