Is Mountain Dew halal?

No halal claim

Mountain Dew makes no halal claim; its FAQ and PepsiCo's help page for the brand do not mention halal.

The longer answer

Mountain Dew's own FAQ and PepsiCo's US consumer help page for Mountain Dew (both checked October 2026) cover caffeine, Zero Sugar versus Diet, product availability and date codes. Neither mentions halal, kosher, alcohol or animal-derived ingredients. For ingredients, PepsiCo points shoppers to pepsicoproductfacts.com. We found no halal certifier for Mountain Dew in the US and no company statement on the source of its flavorings.

What to check before you order

There is no halal mark to look for. Check the ingredient list for the specific flavor you are buying, since Mountain Dew sells many varieties with different colors and flavorings.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
