Is Reed's Ginger Beer halal?

No halal claim

Reed's makes no halal claim. Its FAQ says its ginger beers do not contain alcohol, but the brand also sells Reed's Hard Mule, which is 5% ABV.

The longer answer

Reed's FAQ (checked October 2026) asks "Do your ginger beers contain alcohol?" and answers: "No, our products do not contain alcohol." It says the ginger beers are sweetened with cane sugar, honey and fruit juices from concentrate, and that the Zero Sugar versions use erythritol, stevia and monk fruit.

The FAQ lists kosher certification by the Orthodox Union for all Reed's ginger beers, and says the regular ginger beers are not vegan because they contain honey. It does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification from Reed's.

Reed's also sells an alcoholic line. Its Hard Mule page describes that product as "5% ABV". It is a separate product from the ginger beer and ginger ale, but the packaging carries the same brand name.

What to check before you order

Make sure you are picking up the ginger beer or ginger ale and not Reed's Hard Mule or another alcoholic Reed's product. The alcoholic cans state an ABV on the label.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
