Is Yakult halal?
Yakult USA makes no halal claim; Yakult is halal-certified by JAKIM in Malaysia, which does not cover the US product.
The longer answer
Yakult USA's FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. It lists the ingredients as water, sugar, nonfat milk, glucose, natural flavors and the L. paracasei strain Shirota, with corn dextrin, pectin and stevia extract in Yakult Light, and describes Yakult as a fermented dairy drink. Overseas, Yakult Malaysia's FAQ says Yakult Ace and Yakult Ace Light are certified halal by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM). That certification applies to the Malaysian products. We found no halal certifier for the Yakult sold in the US.
What to check before you order
US Yakult bottles carry no halal mark. The ingredient line that is not broken down is "natural flavors"; a pack imported from Malaysia would show the JAKIM logo.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
