Is Blue Bell halal?

No halal claim

Blue Bell makes no halal claim. Most flavors list no gelatin, but Rocky Road and Banana Pudding do, and the source of that gelatin is not stated.

The longer answer

We read the ingredient lists on all 69 product pages on Blue Bell's website in October 2026. Two list gelatin: Rocky Road ("modified food starch, gelatin, water, salt") and Banana Pudding. Blue Bell does not say which animal the gelatin comes from. Birthday Cake Cups list confectioner's glaze in the candy sprinkles.

The Original Homemade Vanilla lists milk, cream, sugar, skim milk, high fructose corn syrup, natural and artificial flavor, cellulose gum, guar gum, carrageenan, carob bean gum, annatto extract and salt. Rum Raisin lists no rum or alcohol as an ingredient, only "natural and artificial flavor"; the page describes the raisins as "rum-flavored".

We found no FAQ on bluebell.com and no halal statement or certification anywhere on the site.

What to check before you order

Check the ingredient list for gelatin, which appears in Rocky Road and Banana Pudding, and for confectioner's glaze in flavors with sprinkles. Flavorings are not broken down on the label.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
