Is Blue Bunny halal?

No halal claim

Blue Bunny makes no halal claim. It says all its products are kosher dairy certified, and none of the ingredient lists we read includes gelatin or carmine.

The longer answer

Blue Bunny's FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. It says: "All products produced by Blue Bunny are Kosher dairy certified."

We read the ingredient lists on 82 product pages on bluebunny.com. None lists gelatin, carmine, shellac, confectioner's glaze or alcohol. Vanilla lists skim milk, whey, sugar, cream, buttermilk, corn syrup, coconut oil, natural flavors, mono and diglycerides, several plant gums and annatto extract. The red fruit swirls we saw, such as in Cherrific Cheesecake and Banana Split, are colored with Red 40.

Mono and diglycerides appear in most products and their source is not stated. Natural and artificial flavors are not broken down. Blue Bunny is made by Wells Enterprises, and we found no halal certification claim from either.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredient list on the pack, since the site notes ingredients are subject to change. Mono and diglycerides and flavors are listed without a source.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
