Is Butterfinger halal?

No halal claim

Butterfinger makes no halal claim. Ferrero's published ingredient list for Butterfinger shows no gelatin or alcohol, and the Butterfinger FAQ does not mention halal.

The longer answer

Butterfinger is owned by Ferrero. The Butterfinger FAQ (checked October 2026) covers gluten and allergens but does not mention halal, and we found no halal certifier named on the site. Its allergen answer lists milk (buttermilk solids, skim milk), soy lecithin and peanuts, and says the products contain no eggs.

The consumer product page shows its ingredients in a pop-up we could not read as text. Ferrero's foodservice site lists the ingredients of Butterfinger pieces as corn syrup, sugar, peanuts, vegetable oil (palm kernel and palm oil), peanut flour, nonfat milk, and less than 2% of cocoa, milk, salt, soy lecithin, natural flavor and annatto color. No gelatin or alcohol is listed. This is the foodservice version, so the retail bar's label may differ slightly.

"Natural flavor" is not broken down in the list.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredient list on the wrapper, and check Butterfinger ice cream bars and other spin-offs separately since they are different products.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
