Is CeraVe halal?
CeraVe makes no halal claim. Its Moisturizing Cream lists glycerin and cholesterol without stating their source, and the brand's FAQ does not address it.
The longer answer
CeraVe's FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal, vegan status or animal-derived ingredients. Its only related statement is about testing: "CeraVe does not test on animals."
The ingredient list on the Moisturizing Cream page is water, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, petrolatum, potassium phosphate, ceramide NP, ceramide AP, ceramide EOP, carbomer, dimethicone, behentrimonium methosulfate, sodium lauroyl lactylate, sodium hyaluronate, cholesterol, phenoxyethanol, disodium EDTA, dipotassium phosphate, tocopherol, phytosphingosine, xanthan gum and ethylhexylglycerin. The page does not say where the glycerin or cholesterol comes from. We found no halal certification for CeraVe.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient list on the exact product, as cleansers, creams and sunscreens differ. If the source of cholesterol or glycerin matters to you, ask CeraVe directly, since the site does not state it.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
