Is Crest halal?
Crest makes no halal claim. It names three Cavity Protection toothpastes as free of animal by-products, but does not state the source of glycerin in others.
The longer answer
Crest's article on glycerin in toothpaste (checked October 2026) says that Crest Cavity Protection toothpastes in Regular, Cool Mint Gel and Kid's Sparkle "are all free of glycerin and do not contain animal by-products." That statement is limited to those three varieties.
For the rest of the range, Crest describes glycerin as "a natural ingredient found in most oral care products" and its ingredients page explains what glycerin does in toothpaste. Neither page says whether the glycerin is plant-derived or animal-derived.
Crest's pages do not mention halal, kosher or vegan status, and we found no halal certification from Crest or its maker Procter & Gamble.
What to check before you order
If animal-derived glycerin is your concern, the three Cavity Protection varieties named by Crest are the ones it says contain no animal by-products. For any other Crest product, ask Procter & Gamble about that exact item.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
