Is Crunch bar halal?
Crunch makes no halal claim. Its FAQ does not mention halal, and Ferrero's ingredient list for Buncha Crunch includes confectioner's glaze, with no gelatin listed.
The longer answer
Crunch is distributed in the US by Ferrero. The Crunch FAQ (checked October 2026) covers gluten and allergens but does not mention halal, and no halal certifier is named on the site. Its allergen answer lists milk, lactose and milk fat, and soy lecithin, and says the products contain no eggs.
The consumer product page shows the bar's ingredients in a pop-up we could not read as text. Ferrero's foodservice site lists the ingredients of Buncha Crunch as sugar, chocolate, crisped rice (rice flour, sugar, salt, barley malt extract), cocoa butter, nonfat milk, milkfat, tapioca dextrin, lactose, soy lecithin, confectioner's glaze (lac-resin) and natural flavor. No gelatin or alcohol is listed.
Confectioner's glaze, also called shellac, comes from the lac insect, and scholars differ on it. It is listed for the coated Buncha Crunch pieces. We could not confirm from a readable official page whether the standard Crunch bar lists it.
What to check before you order
Read the wrapper of the exact product. If shellac matters to you, look for confectioner's glaze, which appears on Buncha Crunch.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
