Is Dove chocolate halal?

No halal claim

Dove chocolate makes no halal claim in the US. The ingredient list for Dove Promises Dark Chocolate shows no gelatin or alcohol, and Dove's help page does not mention halal.

The longer answer

Dove chocolate is made by Mars. The US Dove website lists the ingredients of Dove Promises Dark Chocolate (checked October 2026) as semisweet chocolate (sugar, chocolate, chocolate processed with alkali, cocoa butter, milkfat, soy lecithin, natural flavor). No gelatin, alcohol or animal ingredient other than dairy is listed. "Natural flavor" is not broken down.

Dove's Contact and Help page does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification claim for Dove chocolate on the US site.

Dove sells many varieties, including caramel, peanut butter and mint filled Promises and ice cream bars. Each has its own ingredient list and we did not review them all.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredients on the exact bag, since filled and seasonal varieties differ from plain dark or milk chocolate. There is no halal logo on US Dove packs that we could confirm.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
