Is Dum Dums halal?
Dum-Dums lollipops list sugar, corn syrup, acids, salt, artificial flavor and colors with no gelatin, but the maker makes no halal claim.
The longer answer
The Dum-Dums website (checked October 2026) lists the ingredients of the Original Mix as: sugar, corn syrup, citric acid, malic acid, salt, artificial flavor, color added (includes Red 40, Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Blue 1). The Tropical Mix has the same list without salt and Yellow 6. No gelatin, carmine or glaze is listed.
Both pages say the product is OU kosher certified and is made on dedicated equipment without peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, wheat or sesame.
We found no halal statement or halal certification on the Dum-Dums pages we read. Dum-Dums are made by Spangler Candy Company in Bryan, Ohio.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient list on the bag, as seasonal shapes and mixes can differ from the Original Mix.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
