Is Kellogg's Frosted Flakes halal?

No halal claim

Frosted Flakes makes no halal claim; its maker says gelatin is used in frosted and marshmallow products without listing them.

The longer answer

WK Kellogg Co, which makes Frosted Flakes in the US, says in its FAQ (checked October 2026) that gelatin is used "in our products that contain frosting and marshmallows" and "may be from pork or beef". It does not list which cereals that covers and does not mention halal. A Kellogg's letter to US customers dated January 4, 2023 names Rice Krispies Treats, Pop-Tarts and Frosted Mini-Wheats as products with gelatin; Frosted Flakes is not named, though the letter says its list is not all-inclusive. We could not open the Frosted Flakes product page to read its ingredient list. We found no halal certifier.

What to check before you order

Check the ingredient list on the box for gelatin, and check any marshmallow version separately.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
