Is Frosted Mini-Wheats halal?
Frosted Mini-Wheats make no halal claim; Kellogg's has stated the cereal contains beef gelatin, and it has no halal certification.
The longer answer
A Kellogg's letter to US customers dated January 4, 2023 states: "Beef gelatin is also used in Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal and Kellogg's Mini-Wheats Little Bites cereal." We read the copy hosted by a school district (checked October 2026). WK Kellogg Co, which now makes the cereal, says in its FAQ that gelatin is used in products with frosting and marshmallows and "may be from pork or beef", without listing products. Neither source says the beef gelatin comes from halal-slaughtered animals, and we found no halal certifier for the cereal.
What to check before you order
Gelatin is on the ingredient line of the frosted cereal. The maker's 2023 letter says beef; there is no halal mark, so ask WK Kellogg Co if you need the current source or slaughter method.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
