Is Goldfish halal?
Goldfish makes no halal claim; the cheddar crackers list cheese made with enzymes and the brand's site does not state the enzyme source.
The longer answer
The Goldfish FAQ page (checked October 2026) does not mention halal, kosher, rennet or enzyme sources. The Cheddar Baked Snack Crackers product page lists cheddar cheese made from cultured milk, salt and enzymes, plus annatto, with no source given for the enzymes. Pepperidge Farm's own FAQ page loaded with empty answer sections when we checked, so we could not read a company statement on enzymes there. We found no US halal certifier for Goldfish.
What to check before you order
Look at the enzymes entry in the cheese ingredients and ask Pepperidge Farm (1-888-737-7374) whether they are microbial or animal for the variety you buy.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
