Is Gushers / Fruit Roll-Ups halal?

No halal claim

General Mills makes no halal claim for Gushers or Fruit Roll-Ups; the labels list no gelatin and Gushers boxes say "Gelatin free".

The longer answer

The US label for Gushers, as reproduced on Giant Food's listing (checked October 2026), carries the line "Gelatin free" and lists carrageenan and agar-agar. The Fruit Roll-Ups ingredient list on Hannaford's variety pack listing uses pectin and lists no gelatin. A search of General Mills' Ask General Mills help center for "halal" returned no articles. General Mills does state there that the gelatin in its marshmallow cereal pieces is pork collagen, which concerns its cereals and not these fruit snacks. We found no halal certifier for either product.

What to check before you order

Look for the "Gelatin free" line and read the ingredients on the box, since recipes and flavors change. There is no halal mark.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
